Ode to Me/ Ode to Her
Ode to Me
These eyes they life.
And these teeth hide my feelings behind my smile.
These hands hold yours honestly,
but attack me brutally.
The scars on my arms aren't of bravery or beauty.
They're stories of weakness and despair.
My ears listen and my mouth responds.
But that's infront of people.
When I'm alone my ears bombard me with lies.
'You're ugly' my ears scream
'Don't listen' my lips plead
But eventually my heart slowly stards to die
It loses its spirit.
And the only thing that is left is the organ that is keeping me alive.
But is it really?
Depression is the monster under my bed.
And maybe someday soon I'll let it take me under and end the pain.
I've tried to push down the suicidal thoughts,
but one day I won't be able to.
Shall we start the count down?

Ode to her
Those eyes are beautiful
And those teeth bring shine light when she smiles.
If other hands attack then take mine,
they'll never hurt you.
The scars on your arms are signs of survival and growth.
The stories of overcoming your pain.
Her ears attentive to those she loves,
her mouth full of feelings.
Though she feels more hurt than she can express.
She believes the lies the demons tell her.
I'll always tell her 'You're beautiful'
until she will listen.
When her heart dies I will give her part of mine
so she'll stay with me.
I will keep her alive with my heart that screams
'You mean the world to me!'
I'll chase away the monsters under her bed named depression.
I'll make it so scared she'll never find it again.
I'll take her feelings and hold them myself
I'll carry half her burden.
The countdown ends here because you won't be alone.
