Ode to Music

At night, when I am feeling depressed,

I lay on the floor crying, undressed.

I debate for hours.

Do I stay? Do I go?

Nobody understands me;

you're the only one who knows.

I put you on, hoping to find help.

You're the only one who's like me.

You make my brain melt.

I can never talk to anybody I know.

They'll tell me I'm selfish and beg me not to go.

You understand my struggles, my pain, my fear.

You'll never know what happens when you travel through my ears.

No words could explain my gratitude.

You greatly changed my attitude.

There is nothing more that I can say

than you're the reason I'm alive today.

You've helped me through some hard times.

I want to do what you did.

I want to make you throughout my life.

Here's to you, Music.
