An Ode to Music

Le Freak by Chic makes me move my feet.

I dance to the trance of the bass-filled beat.

Feeling and finding the groove and rhythm of the instruments.

The mixture of trombones, trumpets, and saxophone travel into my ear.

The music has taken over my body with NO lament!

The end of the song has arrived, but I do not fear:

Shame by Evelyn “Champagne” King is what I hear.

Music: you are my companion, lover, and kin all in one.

Without your presence my life would be undone.

With an amount of love so true,

Here is my ode to you!

I always had a love of reading poetry, I decided to try my hand as a poet.
