Ode to My Bed

At five, I hated everything about you. You were the threat, the dreaded thing that appeared each night. But now, I look forward to you. The warmth you provide, the feeling of relief when we meet each night causes a satisfaction that I get from no other. You allow me to dream, to forget everything and just be with you. I am never uncertain when we are together because you know your role. Glued to you when the alarm clock destroys our relationship, I find the strength to leave but return that night because I can’t live without you.
