ode to my capricorn lover.
capricorn lover --
i run my fingers across your rough knuckles
like moving from paragraph to paragraph.
i twirl the ends of your hair just at the nape
of your neck, the way lights spiral down
columns at christmas time, the lights that
bring a smile to your face, brighter than any bulb.
to this very day, my belly is still bound with a
fish bowl of butterflies, only fluttering about
whenever you smile at me, or when your fingers
dance across my cheek, tracing every freckle.
my heart will never not stop when i see your
face, for you were my first everything and all.
