Ode to My Fellow Women

My fellow women, strong we must be.

Fighting for our rights of expression and equality.

We raged forward, would not rest until we were free.

Women hear us roar, like lionesses we escaped captivity.

Loving, kind, tender, passionate, homemaker, caretakers, creators of life.

Strong, providers, protectors, innovators, cooperate ladder climbers.

Transcended, we cannot be stopped, rising like a Phoenix a new birdlife.

Beautiful, impenetrable, smooth and shiny as Amber.

For years, we suffered downtrodden and discouraged.

Seemed as if our voices would never be heard, cries as silent as summer winds,

Only heard by people still enough to listen, our liberty belated.

But we knew who we were, Beautifiers

And we always had a vision of a beautiful place.

Liberty, love, equality, freedom we will continue to chase.
