Ode to My Fluffy Friend

Benji, when you frolic in the grass, it's quite the sight.

You're always there when I am in a state of fright.

When you prance into the room to eagerly find me,

I grow a happiness that is larger than the sea.

As we walk through nature and we go by others,

You become so connected with them like babies and their mothers.

You have the power to give everyone a smile

And I hope you stay in my life for a very long while.

You make me laugh when you loaf like bread on the ground

And your paws tapping quickly on the floor is a happy sound.

When the stars come out and the sky is black,

You crawl into my bed and I feel my tummy against your back.

You let out a big sigh which signals you're sleepy,

Then I snuggle you closer when I see shadows that look creepy.

I wake up to your morning sneezes at first.

I next see you walk to get water because of your thirst.

You get sad when I have to leave the house.

I know this because when I come back, you're cuddling my blouse.

Benji, I love you with all of my heart,

Except when I smell your horrible fart.
