An Ode to My Grandmother

I look to you as a I look to the moon
Your silver streams wrap around me
I feel your kiss on the waves of my tumultuous river
See you staring back through the rippling mirror
     And I am still

When daybreaks and I lose sight of you
You peek through the blaring sun,
between the branches of an oak tree,
Behind the hovering clouds--
     And I am at peace.

I worship you oh lady of starlight.
Your light blinds me of the craters where
your flaws hide, leaving perfection in its place
I kiss the earth where your reflection walks upon--
     And I am baptized
