Ode to my Pillow
Oh! warm clouds of cotton,
Who make their home
In my bedroom
The warmth of you,
Brings consolance upon me.
Stepped on
Tossed around
Unloved and always hidden from sight.
Taken for granted.
Tattered
Torn,
And worn.
For on you I will solemnly lay my head
Into dreams I can smoothly sail
After long days I run to you.
My faithfulness
Is with you,
And only you.
You hear my sorrows and screams
As well as my wishful dreams.
You are patient,
And loving
As you wait for my return.
With you I learned
That I was never alone.
Your convincing spirit always coaxes me to trust you
At my times of vulnerability.
You held my head
Through all the exams and tests
You give me a place,
A place to rest my head.
So I raise a toast,
Here is to you!
My dear sweet pillow.
