Ode To The Night
How is it ever possible to miss,
Miss someone so much
Like fire ablaze in the deepest trenches of my heart?
How is it ever possible to kiss,
Kiss this nocturnal, emollient wind,
Send flight to it hurtling into your lips, your heart?
Nothing can deprive me of this night,
For as the moon's growth is brought into fullness,
As I close my eyes, as if with summoning art,
My memory conjures it back with might!
Though forthwith, it never is black as black can be;
It no longer runs against time,
Nor is it brimming with mocking light!
Nay! Afresh! Anew! The august cosmic lights prevail.
My weary eyes, at last my weary eyes do see!
