Ode to Poetry

How wonderous an entity you are.

I only wish to share you with the world

and proclaim my undying affections.

Your powers are infinite.

Your purpose is true.

I am but an instrument to you,

as the pen is to I,

and the paper to it.

I have no control,

You are my puppeteer.

But I am more than willing

to lend my naive ear.

I listen as you whisper

I tremble as you speak

then I humbly attempt

to do justice to your mystique.

I suppose if I were to be true

I would admit that, Poetry,

I am a servant to you.
