Ode to Poets and Warriors

I feel like Ernest Hemingway

A mass of creativity and social justice warrior with no reside

I feel a need to create a better tomorrow

But from my fears, I have no place to hide.

I feel like George Orwell

Looking far into the future, but fighting for the present

Joining battle we fight the modern Francos and Cromwells

But set up for failure I shall personally resent

I feel like William Wordsworth

A romantic of the world, sparking a new era

At times I am haughty; at times I do not know my worth

I hold myself back, but do not know what I am scared of.

I feel like Vincent Van Gogh

I paint pictures in my mind and relay it on a canvas

Romantic and bold, but occasionally faux

I believe in the world, but sometimes I can’t get past it.

I feel like Assata Shakur

Struggling for a cause, doing what is right

I am on a path doing what is good for the world

And I will win, especially with the will to fight

I feel like Huey Newton and Fred Hampton

And Malcolm X and Martin Luther King.

I will gladly be gunned down by a government marxman

In the name of equality and liberty; but they cannot kill my legacy.

I feel like a soul with doubt,

But a soul willing to do everything for his cause.

And I know that no matter how my life turns out

To the world, I shall be a gauze.
