Ode to Rain

You're a beautiful shower from up high.

Sure, plants have rejoiced in morning dew,

But no other phenomenon would even try

To match the blessing that is you.

In sharp, icy sheets, like a heartbroken cry.

Soft and warm, with the joy that is new.

I want to laugh and look to the sky,

When the heavens open to let you through.

The crystal clear hue

Of your lovely blue

Makes me know you

When the silver light filters through.

It is just perfect to simply lie

On my back and listen to

The beat of your heart, I

Can't lie, your song is true.

So, even whilst I dry

My wearied eyes and rue

The pain I may feel: Why?

I see you and your clear blue.

The crystal clear hue

Of your lovely blue

Makes me know you

When the silver light filters through.

You help me say fie

to your friends, though few.

Thunder great, lightning, tie

it up, a perfect storm with you.

Though the waters rise, I pry

The top off the box my mind drew.

I will always know as I say goodbye

to darkness, you were my clue.

The crystal clear hue

Of your lovely blue

Makes me know you

When the silver light filters through.

Poets, may your days be the way you like them, whether rainy, sunny, or overcast with anticipation for a storm.
