Ode to Rocky

Back on that court ball was life and the NBA were goals. Never would have thought a different  story would unfold. Blood sweat and tears where your motivation pushing forward. Watch me rise to the top and laugh at my haters, those were words. And I believe them until that summer that I heard you were not longer here. It couldn't be real I thought it was a joke to merely cast on fear. My titanic heart dropped that the words of this iceberg at my moment of hearing I had no words. None to describe losing one that you loved so dear and for so long. To much for even put those emotions into song. Drip drip rain water in the flavor of mourning forming a stream of hurt running down my brown skinned mountains. Rocky we just graduated and your departure is causing me to be a fountain, without a button to turn my precipitation off. You were my dude since elementary school man leaving after we're done with public education was cool. This is my letter to you. I MISS YOU. Saddened by the lack of closure because I was never able to tell you good bye. The customs and traditions of your religion wouldn't let that fly. We were closer than brothers though we came from different mothers, and ethnicities, and cultures and beliefs.  But those differences  never stood as an obstacle for our friendship. Never since we met back in 5th grade as kids with immaturity on our lips. Sharing stupid jokes like I cup and these memories sadden me because  I can't see you. And never again will I see you. If it one regret that I have it is not sharing the gospel to you my friend and allowing you to live in sin until your end. Oh the burden I carry for assisting your second death. Wishing that God would Lazarus one day with his breath. So I can Ezekiel to your dry bones and offer you life, eternally.  Unbound by the chains of this world, born-again non maternity. But I remained silent and those were the deadliest words I spoken to you. I remember one day you has a pregnancy scare and you wanted me to be the godfather of that child. Thinking back it was probably you know that compared you to I was wasn't all that wild. Or could it have been that you seen something hidden within me, the goodness of God who rules as the elohim. Osa lama licum was hello in you native tongue but now I'm saying goodbye to you as I cry. I miss you rocky and you continue to be my testimony that's how you'll live alive to me today
