Ode To Sorrow

Ode to sorrow

how you seem to find me

here or there

the darkness comes

making me feel like

I'm constantly

close to extinction.

you keep me up on these

long, lonely nights.

you swear away my motivation

and success.

you even tell me

whats right and

whats wrong.

the only thing you do well,

is make certain i always have

a comfortable bed

to plant myself in for days on end.

you scared him away because

he couldn't deal with your handle

on me.

he wanted me to get better

but you whispered in my ear,

“better be safe from him, always steer clear”

i ran and hid in the cold satin sheets

of my bed where i stayed for days on end.

and he never came back,

but you stayed.

oh sorrow,

you stayed.
