Ode to South Central

South Central, That Guy.

By Fletcher Bost

Oh South Central you have given me a place to prosper

The one that many disliked became my savior

So many great personalities

Such few time to know them

Soon we will split like all great things do

And on that day an era will end

In this time I should reflect

Freshman year nothing went right

I came in on a crutch, not able to see the light

But soon I realized that wasn’t the worst

My time here would not always be cursed

I went out for the track team

And from there a little bit of talent started to gleam

Even still no one could have foreseen

The kid with the crutch becoming a star teen

Running wasn’t even the half

Not a day went by with you that I failed to laugh

The people here have been the best

I’ll never find a mix quite like it

I’ve learned what it means to be human

I’ve learned how to handle adversity

I’ve learned the importance of diversity

Oh South Central it has been a solid four years

We’ve had our ups and downs

But it’s been a good experience all around

My love for you will never quit

Even though it is nearly time for us to split
