An Ode To The World Around Me

Winter breeze keeps me in my cozy bed, Cuddled indoors with tea and a good book, Swept along the days without fear or dread, Like a hobbit I nuzzle in a nook. No presence of leaves and snow on the ground, A serene peace of mind that I have found. In the spring flowers bring a busy bee, Cleaning and planting and preparing life, With the sun my rest turns to energy, Keeping my mind sharp like a well-honed knife. Rain and warmth bring me such joy at this time, To not enjoy it would be such a crime. Summer brings friends and splashing in rivers, Meeting up, sharing a laugh, sharing food, Somehow this season always delivers, The longest days happiness is pursued. A season of berries, fruits of labor, A season to get to know a neighbor. Without fail fall is the best of them all, Leaves scatter the ground along the chill air, Your mind goes from racing to a slow crawl, The perfect time to take a stroll as pair. Oktoberfest brings beer, a time of cheer, And holidays of playful fright draw near.
