ode to you
I never want to forget.
Smiles and laughs, never serious, and so never hurt.
We took it for granted and didn't realize when it left.
But if not for you, always for me,
A void is left open and exposed,
A hole never to truly be filled, because nothing could.
It was nothing grand, it was subtle and calm,
I didn't want to fall, I was afraid to be left,
It was what it was, and there was nothing deeper,
So you went your way and I did too,
But I'll never forget those days,
Waking up with you.
