Oh, Cinderella
Oh, Cinderella,
How so beautiful?
Cinder-tinged hair
Wrapped in blue curls,
Meant love & adoration
After provided pain
Of the unloving
Cinderella, the truth
Is beyond a godmother
Hope is held tight
In the darkest chimney,
Where the only light
Burns your skin as
The scars of forever
There was no magic
But in the belief
That a little extra
Will get you more,
But my dear princess -
You didn't work, Cinderella
How's it to be handed a dream?
Ashen eyes can't see
But the face that controls
Every action and thought
To be placed in the mind
A mother from a place
Deeper than the remains
Of the charring wood
Nothing but drowning work,
And an unnatural naturality
That leads down the path
Where the end is a given
Oh, Cinderella,
Didn't you hear?
Fairy-tales are as true
As the beliefs that
We won't someday die
What lesson is truly there
But to teach hope to reality,
When here in this world -
It simply can't process
Dreams are the ends of fingers
That are so covered in soot
As they clean away cinder
That simply has no end
Reality is the place
That burns fire, bright
With a light so shining
You reach before its time -
Left, scarred & charred dreams
Oh Cinderella,
...Didn't you know?
