Oh Me Oh My
Your smile pulled at my heartstrings,
Then cut them loose - one by one.
You broke my heart in a moment,
Then reshaped it in the next.
Your eyes made my own well up in tears
Because I knew that you felt it too.
You shook your head because you knew
That as with anything, this wouldn't last.
I shook my own head
Just enjoy it.
Your book was waiting in your hands
My book was waiting in mine.
I'm nothing but a dreamer.
Ah, but the best people are.
I laughed at my foolish heart,
And turned away from my reflection.
