Oh Sun

oh blistering sun,
why are You like this?
Your warmth gives us life,
yet can also take it ‘way,

Your arrival signals
leisure for our race,
yet Your departure
signals death for others,

You melt the white snow
to signal reawakening,
yet Your melting also
sentences others to death,

how could You be so giving,
and selfish at the same time?
