Oh, What a World We Live In

Oh, what a world we live in!

How can this world be so cruel?

How can we sit by and watch people get killed?

Torture, abuse, pain from all sides,

and sometimes we're even the cause!

History has shown that we're not a kind race.

World Wars, Holocaust, hatred, and disgrace.

How can we stand by and watch

as people get slaughtered, sometimes for no reason?

Yet somehow we're still here,

alive in this world,

and not just surviving, but thriving.

Yet do we deserve as much?

Were our efforts to get to this point worth the cost?

Will our continued progression cause even more trouble?

Will the future we seek to achieve be any better

than the world we'll be leaving behind?

Should we keep going? Or should we give up hope?

Simply watch the world rot at the hands

of those who have taken so much from us before,

and why should they stop now?

Oh, what a world we live in...
