Oh to the XX Chromosome

Oh to the XX chromosome, you condemn me yet you design me!

I try to deny you for you limit my actions,

But just as often thank you for what I have come to be.

You make my goals more difficult to achieve,

But also you have brought me so many successes.

You are both a pro and a con to my identity!

You torture and deceive me,

As well as reunite me with myself, and keep me together.

You tether me to your limitations,

But make me stronger as I fight to get free.

Am I simply too naïve to understand your intentions?

Do I take your attempts to help me learn how to be a better leader and person

As a personal attack?

You make things more difficult for me,

But you also make them more worth the effort.
