OK Google
OK, Google: I am trapped,
Nothing speaks upon this land.
Deserted, scared, alone I am!
Oh, solitude is overblown—
Frost, Thoreau, and Dickinson--
fathom can I not their praise
of life secluded in the woods.
No water, food, blanket, or books--
no one but Google gives relief.
A click, some taps, a scroll.
And help is at my fingertips,
reaching from the world’s edges
and wrapping around the word, one word:
Google, and I’m no longer scared,
helpless, or alone: Google, a gift.
Some say it’s evil, makes us lazy
And not as active as before;
But how blame you who’s brought to us
convenience everywhere, and guides
to roads, to food—to everything.
With Google’s help I’m freed from hunger,
thirst and loneliness, I’m warm
and cozy, and enjoying now
the solitudes of Frost, Thoreau,
and Dickinson (all from Google, as well~ :)
