Okay

I open my eyes

And look into my palms

It’s another day

And it’s all in there

Different sizes, colors and shapes

The doctors must be crazy

I’d rather die

But I don’t mean that

Mother made me swear I’d take them

For my health, For her health.

Maybe she could scold me in the next life

I throw them out the open window

And start to say goodbye

I’ve always wondered why it had to be this way

I never really had a choice

Miles and miles away

From family, friends and life

But Maybe, just maybe

Pain demands to be felt

Slowly the tear I tried holding back

Breaks free just as I close my eyes

Waiting…

Until I breathe no more
