Okay?

I woke up Wednesday morning to sunshine, thought it would be a good day

Get dressed, grab breakfast, kiss father goodbye

“Wait. Did your sister tell you?”

My fingers turned icy with silence as my answer

“I got laid off yesterday.”

Yesterday’s smiles seemed to far away, I hadn’t wanted to come home

I was having too much fun with my friends

“Oh.”

First thing that crossed my mind: College

We could barely afford it

Next thing: Debut

Can I still have one?

Us:

Will we be okay?
