Old Blue

Wake up in the morning to the old rooster

Head to the kitchen for my morning coffee

Then I put my boots on and start the day

Old blue was waiting outside in the cold

Covered in snow but ready to go

I attached the hay for to old blue

When I went to crank the old tractor

It didn’t move

I sprayed some starter fluid up in old blue

And she started with no problem

Stopped by the shop to get some water

Then headed to the hay barn to feed the cows

It was a slow morning

The cows were all together trying to stay warm

I could just see the calves shivering in the cold

I finished feeding the cows then headed back to the shop

For the rest of the day I worked on the old farm truck

It had been acting up lately and needed major work

By the end of the day I just wanted to sit down

I walked up to the house and went inside

I went into the kitchen, grabbed some food and a drink

And I went to go sit down in my favorite chair

Hours later I woke up in my chair still tired

So, I went back to my bed and ended the day on the farm with old blue
