Old breakup piece

It's been longer than a month, yet somehow.

Somehow, I avoided thinking about the exact moment.

The words I knew he was going to say.

It was surreal. It sounded like I was dreaming.

My hearing, muted from the Cafe and the shock, could barely make out those words.

But I knew he said them. It was painful, but dull.

I said I understood, walked to a group, and walked away in a hurry.

I felt emotionally sick, I couldn't be in the same room as him.

I felt sad and mad at myself.

But even so, over the weeks ro come I hadn’t thought about what he said at all.

“I want to break up”
