Old Friend

Remind me, old friend, of the time

When we laughed and when we shined,

in the night.

Tell me, good friend, of the time

When we would hold hands

through the night.

Through time, since, we have seen

the end

How many times?

Through time, friend, I have learned

that ends

can always seem to be fine.

So where did you go now?

What did you see?

What have you been doing, friend?

Without me?

So nice to see you again.

Why don't you tell me everything?

If you ask me, how life has been

I'd have to tell you, my good friend, that

It's been lonely since the end.

But I've been getting by and by

with photograph memories and, a good story

Of how glass bottles turn into something beautiful

after the tides bring them back to the sands.
