Old Friend

Hello, you know me

I am a longtime friend

I’ve been here for awhile now

I was there when you were testing

I was there when you tried out for cheer

I was there when you were at your first concert

I am fear……..

But lately you haven’t been around

Do you not need me anymore?

Is your heart ten time stronger?

I’ve missed you, we used to be so close

You used to hold me near your heart

You would never let me go

I was your security blanket

I was your wall

I guess… you have finally broken through

Although I’ll miss you

I’m glad you no longer need me
