An Old Friend

The mountains here are kind

I'm glad you stopped by

It's nice to see your smile

It's been quite a while.

Golden sun and morning dew

I recall morning walks

With you

The birch radiant and happy too

When we passed through.

Over 100,000 miles

This lonely soul has roamed

Still your heart

Holds steady a home

For mine.

Though the sea

calls you back again

I'll wait by the shore

And let this old lighthouse

Bring you back again.
