Old heart two

Out of selfishness and desire

To catch their little bird

 they poisoned the water

With a drop of dew

From the morning flower, and added a bit of green moss

They feared someone else

Had already heard

The song of love and loss

They cursed the young women that dark lonely night

To a fast descent into sickness

They wanted her dead before dawns light

However the gods were not heartless

They only wanted to keep her safe

Little did they know

How they had sealed her everlasting fate

She crawled to the bank with a painful scream

Drenched in cold wetness

Shivering by the stream

She felt weak and paled

Her stomach ailed

Oh she felt hopeless

She didn’t tell a soul

That she had snuck out

For a late night stroll

He saw her bathing

He knew it was wrong

Yet he couldn’t turn his eyes

From her pale figure

Or cover his ears

To stop listening to her beautiful song

He lingered in the grove

Hiding behind the trees

She seemed so magical so simply pleased

She reminded him of the sky

For she seemed so far away

Yet her light enchanted him

Like a star guiding his way

He stared breathless for a while

And as he blushed and turned away

He heard an awful scream pierce the air

A howl of terrible pain

Chills ran up his spine

The blood gone from his face

He saw the girl crawling towards the bank

Crying for help from anyone

No matter what thy name
