An Old Perspective of Hope

Don’t worry that you can’t figure me out

I don’t know who I am either because

people are always changing.

So please don’t hate me.

I give you all that I can and all that I am

and I know I don’t know who I’ll be tomorrow

but that me will love you more than this one because I see something new to love  in you each and every single day.

And that’s just my way of helping

and helping is my way of coping

and coping is my way of hoping that one day everything will be okay.

I promise you everything will be fine as long as you can learn to look through the blinds of what people say

to see if it’s best for you to turn away

I’m taking the blinds off of my windows

In the hope that you’ll finally take more than a peek and believe in what you see in me.

People are always changing and my room is always rearranging

but I’m always growing into the same foundation of who I’m meant to be.

Always helping

Always coping

And always hoping you’ll see your worth in the reflection of my window

The eyes are the windows to the soul

And both of mine are open wide
