a old tree
The Tree
I remember when I was a small sapling
Wearing an uncomfortable black bag
As I rode on a truck with my brothers and sisters
we each had stopped in different location
and I found my new home away from my sisters and brothers
The new place was scary
I missed my brother and sisters
and of course
my mother
oh how I missed her smooth leaves
she told she will always be here for me
As I grew up
I realized I would never see my family again
Although the place I stayed
had 3 loving children
they have a mother
and I wish my mother was there too
As I grew older and older
the three loving children that loved me
decided they were too old to stop by the old tree
I miss the way they swung by my branches
and played around me
A few years have past by
I do not know how long I have been in my new home
the 3 children have not returned
and I was alone
I could not walk on my feet
I wish I could so
to move and find a new home
With children that will never leave me
And a mother that will love me
A few years more have past
I found a few more trees to keep me company
But it will never be the same as the company of my brother and sister
HAZA
I say
I found 6 children
that are small and young
they play around my roots
and swing on my branches
Has the day come that I feel young again
The young children come every day
to swing on my branches and play tag around me
I wish I could join them
but sadly it can't
I wish I could
run around and join them
A few years have past
I miss my brothers and sisters
I can’t believe that i have not seen them in such a long time
I remember when I first rode
to this farm
Why did we all have to be separated
How I still miss them
I feel ill
my leaves are dying and i can’t swallow my food
I hear the owner talking
about me
the old tree
I am afraid that they will cut me down
After about another year
They cut my branches
soon I will be a stump
and the children
had stopped coming
I miss being a tree
They started building buildings around the old farm
they could not move me because my roots were too far in the ground
no one stopped to say hello
Not even the trees that stood straight and tall
A few more years have passed
I am a stump and that's all I am
I saw seats made from wood
the wooden seat talked to me
we became friends
until they replaced him
with a rude disrespectful plastic chair
that called me names
The old farm that used to be there
has now turned to New York City
There are no trees
There are only stumps left
and I am still alone
I realized that is how I would be for the rest of my life
life as a stump
and I will wait and see if life happens over again
