The Old Us
Sadly it turns out everything I once said was a lie.
Even though I had the best intentions in the end
it all just ended up a lie.
At first you started off as my bestfriend,
few months later I end up being the lucky guy.
But now look where we are, and yet I only wonder why.
The feeling you get, when you lose somebody, you truly love.
Only inside will that person know the damage that was done,
I sat and thought over and over how could I be so dumb.
When you always had my back and you were the only one
The only one I saw, and the only one I wanted.
But when I heard I made you cry, my mind, I almost lost it.
The tears, they hit the bathroom floor, louder than the bathroom faucet
I lost all of your trust, you've had enough, So I get if there is no talking.
No apology, no excuse can make up for what I have done,
You made me feel as If I was on top of the world, number one.
I knew it from the jump, a queen deserves a king and not a crumb;
I was stupid and took advantage of all the good I once had,
Thinking that I had room for mistakes and that whatever happened, that we'd last
I looked at the few things, that you didnt give. When yet you had so much to offer.
But that's on me, till this day. I pray and I hope that you prosper.
I hope you grow and you become the strong lady you are meant to be.
I also hope that you meet the man you deserve, and he treats you like a queen.
I miss you...
