The Old World

Ever since I was a child, all I've ever heard about is the Old World Light and the New World Darkness.

My grandparents would sit and talk about their childhood and how it was superior because they didn't have TV.

My childhood was terrible acorrding to them.

Firm believers in the New Wolrd Darkness they scared me at a young age that my adulthood would be bleak because of technology.

The older they get, the more firm they are in their belief of Old World Light.

My parents are becoming more like them too.

My father was once hopeful for the New World but now he is blinded by it. He now belives that humanity is lost and must find shade in the Old World in order to survive.

My wonderfull older sister is now joining the Old World parade. She compares her childhood to mine, wondering how my generation can ever truly be happy.

My sister thinks my generation is lost to the hostile New World.

As time goes on, people lose more hope for the New World and instead focus on their Old World path.

Their eyes stare into the what was, ignoring what could be.

It is up to the current generation to finally look forward to the New Wold and stop dwelling in the Old one.
