OLD YOU

My childhood wasn't always filled with innocence.
I never had that house with the white picket fence
I never understood a thing, but now it all makes sense.
I always knew who I could trust, or who I could turn to. This paper and pen know the whole truth. They say three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead. That's why things are better left unsaid. You may know me but you never cared to know the real me. I keep my secrets in a safe & you'd never find the key. I want to remain silent because my words are too loud for you. You no longer have authority over me or what I do. I'm the new me but you'll always be the old you
