THE OLD YOU
SPOKEN WORD POETRY
The old you
It’s in your smile
I found perfection
It’s in your face
My pains and sorrows disappeared
You had this smile
That always lit my doomy world
You had these cute eyes
That I would see a thousand galaxies
Sparkling before me
You had these pink lips
That beautified my garden of roses
You had these cute eyebrows
That wiped my tears away
Sweet words that made my heart
Glow even when you were not around
You had this melody
That made an escape to our little song
A song you became part of the lyrics
Every morning sweet aroma
That always woke me up
Breakfast in bed
Cuddles and kisses to start the day
I missed the old you
I just missed the old you.
The old you that saw past my flaws
The old you that saw past my stretchmark’s
The old you that saw past my pains
The old you that saw past my beauty
The old you that saw past my mistakes
The old you that saw past my laughter
The old you that saw past my tears
The old you that saw past my shortcomings
The old you that saw past my broken pieces
Just the old you
