Older

They say, “You’ll hate when you get older”

I say “Tell me, when do I get older?”

Is it when all of my problems are over

Is it when I stop and accept all these do overs

Is it when I put everyone’s weight on my back

Stay crouched over and forget tit for tat

I mean, when do I get older?

Does my age define my mind

Does it, help me to understand

These differences in time

This mind of mine is the reason

That I forget whenever the power of time wasn’t mine

They say “Stay young”

I say “Stay strong”

Show me your scars and I’ll show you mine

Did yours multiply in time or all happen at one time

You see life hit me too early

Things you’re doing now,I did early

You’re fun to me is boring

My fun to you is sulky

I don’t know when I started to think like this

But when life hit, It didn’t miss

It took away my color and gave me black and white

It said “Grow up now or just roll over”

Tell me, when do I get older?

Is there more to it than this?

Tell me when you come over.

Did life hit you, or did it miss
