Older

You know when you were younger

and you knew

who you wanted to be?

But as you got older,

those dreams slowly drifted

away from reality.

See, we all

have aspersions,

some big some small.

But what if the world

we live in right now

stripped away it all?

Cause that’s what’s happening.

Dreams being squashed,

hopes being cursed,

mouths being shut,

all because society

struck where it was the worst.

And now as we age

into our older years,

we have to think for ourselves

But how can one do this

if they’ve only been taught how to

look out for anyone but their own selves
