Olympic Poetry Slam

People screaming, laughing, and cheering

All for Athletes with abilities like no other

Families gather for the games that happen every 4 years

Games that up lift the crowds feelings

Games that are not for children but for the superior

What Hitler calls superior is challenged

Hitler stands tall like a solid tree

He calls out black athletes as if they were weak

He likes to speak words of hate

Though acts like a freak of nature

Blacks challenge, rise, and speak with their actions

Each game is a game against Hitler

Racism has spread like a wildfire

Moving so slowly and corrupting the minds of many

What’s hidden has been but seen

Posters, newspapers, and signs all covered up

Tourists see but a lie a false image

Germany stands by hiding the truth

Athletes of different color look to prove Hitler wrong

Hardwork and dedication is all around

Owens a man of power and strength

Moves like a rhino

Were stands in his way

One medal, two medals, three medals, four medals

How many does it take to prove Hitler is wrong?
