Once

Once
is monumental.
Supply and demand
never met a match
of such epitome and weight.

Once
is confrontational-
if ever was
a time to say it-
Now!- it doesn’t come twice.

Once
is generational.
ducklings trail behind,
who couldn’t deny mom
no matter how hard they tried.

Once
is harsh and gentle
unassuming in quantity,
breaking the pivotal scales.
