Once Sunshine

Open your worthless mind and let it be known that you would kill for your own to gain nothing, then leave what remains in the shadows. Being guilt-free, every unwanted feeling was tossed aside like trash in an alley where animals pick away at what use to be life. No one, but I, knew alone in the darkness you allowed yourself to decompose. Deteriorating in front of me stood a brilliant mind that could have stretched farther than my reach, but I could do nothing to help. You became known as aloof to the world and yet, we stood waiting silently for ignorance to pass. Abandon hope and forget every memory of daylight on the horizon because the skies have darkened and no one is there anymore.
