Once Upon Another Life

Once upon another life,
There will come a time when these bones will be dust
And these memories will be a part of the sea
And what these eyes have seen will be nothing more than a blur.

Once upon another life,
There will come a time when these cities will fall
And these lights will slowly dim out into the horizon
And this noise will calm itself into the silence and rest deserved.

Once upon another life,
There will come a time when emptiness will win
And everything known will disappear into the sky
And this little blue and green planet will surrender to the darkness.

Once upon another life,
There will come a time when there will never be another life.
