Once upon a lullaby

When one is alone

Not lonely.

Truly, honestly alone.

A grown up child

Will seek the comfort

From not so long ago.

The warmest embrace.

A mother's reassurance

That you have not failed

The voice that sang a lullaby

Once upon a time.

A promise of comfort

In one's darkest hour.

In my darkest hour.
