Once Upon a Rose
We all know how the story goes,
the hero gets the girl, the prince gets his princess, and the villain faces his fate
but let me tell you a little twist in the story of a prince with a rose
and how he needed a princess to save him from his curse
He was a cursed prince,
she was a small town girl,
whose paths crossed one day
when the girl's father was taken away.
She exchanged places with him
and stayed in that castle with the beast.
once she was roaming around the castle
when she found his precious rose
He found her there and decided to explain
why he looked that way
she learned he was once a very rich prince and he got cursed by an evil witch
who wanted to take over the bay.
the only way to break this curse, was not true love,
but the witch had to receive the rose from a brave young girl
she understood what had to be done
and she parted at dawn
she had to travel through the dark forest
a place where the light doesn’t shine
and no one dares to go, not even the bravest of them all.
With her heart on her throat, she adventured into the darkness
the place sent shivers down her spine; she went on regardless
she kept going in that horrendous place
until she saw the tower, where that witch lived
she knocked on the door and waited in that dark space
an old lady came out, with a hooked nose and wrinkles all over her face
she asked who dares disturb her
the small town girl showed her the rose
the old lady smiled and said
I guess you’re who he chose,
that special girl that has his heart.
She said a few magical words, and everything around them changed
The forest wasn’t gloomy and frightening,
it was full of light and color,
and the castle where that beast lived was also replaced.
The young girl ran inside, and instead of a beast,
she found that young, rich prince.
They got to know each other before they decided to date
they didn’t get married right away.
See this story wasn’t about love,
it was about bravery and kindness.
Be brave. Get over your fears.
You don’t know what you’re missing at the other side.
Be kind to others. Be someone else’s sunshine.
Everyone is going through a battle you know nothing about.
