Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time two girls were told,
Work hard, look pretty
No friends, just allies
mercy makes you weak
Be desirable, be discovered
Dress up, paint your face
you are nothing without a man
New sister? More competition
Manipulate, use her
anything to get ahead
Prepare, get ready
Dance, flirt
is this ball a way out?
Ignored, shunted aside
Useless, shallow
you aren't good enough
Doomed, nothing
Alone, doubting
beaten by impossible magic
Go home, start over
Work hard, look beautiful
maybe someday you'll be noticed
before
you grow old
useless
ugly
alone
