Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time

We all know how this story goes

The maiden gets new clothes

She attends the ball and falls for the prince

Then the clock strikes twelve and she sprints

Eventually her true love comes

And together they overcome

But this is not that tale

This story measures on a different scale

The story, like many others, starts the same

A poor girl with a name

Decides to run away

The evil villain decides to attack on a Sunday

Continuing the cliché, the princess falls into a deep slumber

In comes the prince, riding through rain and thunder

To awake the beauty with a kiss

In hopes that together they may experience pure bliss

As his lips touched hers, the girl rose

The birds sing and the wind blows

Looking up at the figure, the poor girl winced

The prince, unknown to the issue, was convinced

They were to wed in a fortnight and runaway

“Um…sorry your highness, but I’m actually gay”
