Once upon a time
I look into my past
I’ve realized what I’ve lost
Something I never really had.. became someone I’d protect at all costs
Ties that were left unsevered, slowly came apart
As did our love.. the love that was in my heart
You took it all away like you were the rightful owner
Kisses to the nose, Kisses to the lips, kisses on the sholder
You told me I was the sweetest
You were being truly honest
Something only I could see
Ive lost you and I think Ive lost it
Memories left unspoken
My heart is truly broken
I take a whip of the past it fills my lungs like I’ve been smokin’
I slowly lose my breath with you not by my side
Everyone surrounding me saying its going to be alright
You’re a great guy, she just doesn’t see
So I reply “so does that make her blind?”
I guess so.. let her be
What any girl really needs is a guy to take that leap;
Of faith
I guess I never crossed the other side
My life will never be the same with you not here by my side
I asked for a second chance.. I asked again so that makes three
I guess I’m not the guy whom I’m set out to be
Why try to love
When my heart has no longer a beat
But take a seat and let me refresh you’re memories
On second thought you can play them in your head endlessly…
What we had was unforgettable
Something we see in movies
All we needed was commitment
Yeah, That’s all we needed
I’m glad I’ve planted this seed..
In the ground, for you to see
We started small and then became a tree
Sadly all the leaves have fallen
The tree has been chopped for timber
Heating up a home
As it once heated up my heart
Once upon a time ..
You were my princess
You were all my riches
I’ve mended my broken heart
It will never be the same with these imprints of stitches..
