Once upon a time...
Once upon a time...
There was a girl doing chores.
This girl could rhyme.
Yet, her step sisters and step mom thought she was a bore.
One day a messenger came and said there was a ball.
And at that ball to find the bride for the prince there would be contest.
The step sisters said, "I will be royal once and for all!"
As the sisters started fighting, the step mom said, "Finally, I will have the power for my conquest."
The girl over heard and asked if she could go.
Immediately she was told no.
When the day of the ball came she was given a lot of chores.
She couldn't finish them all before the ball.
She headed to the storeroom and opened the door.
Only to see an old woman who wasn't very tall.
The old woman said, "I am here to help you get to that ball."
The girl thought, "What do I have to lose?"
The answer was nothing at all.
The girl got a new ride, a new dress, and a pair of new shoes.
She stepped down from her carriage and stepped into the ball.
She mingled with the guests.
And avoided her family her very best.
Finally the contest begun.
And low and behold, it was a rhyming contest.
Many girls tried and failed, then the girl stepped up and told the prince, "Watch this, hun."
She rhymed and beat all of the rest.
Then the clock struck twelve and she was once again in her rags.
The prince took her hand and declared her his wife instead of the rest of those hags.
Then they lived happily ever after.
And their children got her rhyming talent which filled the rest of their lives with laughter.
